Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind
~ William Shakespeare ~
I love love love this quote.. It is so true and so lost in todays society. So it’s almost weekend and some of my friends are going to weddings this weekend and my moms a photographer so I figured this would be awesome to write about, share some quotes and showcase pictures!
When I think wedding, I immediately get sucked in to my childhood and Disney movies 🙂 Where I am the princess and the prince comes and swoops me up in a carriage. Yet, this is not what I picture my dream wedding.. in my dream I wear a gorgeous white dress, a veil, a tiara, I have an army of little flower girls and a cute as button ring boy in a huge cathedral with lots of people. The benches are decorated with white flowers and ribbons, there are big candelabras with white candles slowly burning. I can hear the music and the quiet gasps as I enter through the doors, slowly walking, clutching on to my bouquet of beautiful flowers. Nervously looking at the guests, hoping I don’t trip, seeing my prince at the end waiting anxiously. I take it all in, they beauty, the smells, the electricity in the air, the high arches, the beautiful stained glass windows, the smiles on peoples faces. I watch as the rose petals slowly fall on the floor, after those little hands picked them out of the small baskets carried proudly by beautiful girls. When I reach the altar all I see is my husbands handsome face as he looks at me, seeing no one else absolutely in love. The ceremony flies by, like in a time warp, I concentrate on the words I need to repeat and all I can think about is “I DO” “I DO”. Then the rings, oh dear I hope I don’t drop it, ok good got the ring on, small giggle and gaze at my almost husband. “You may kiss the bride”
YES!!! I lean in for the magical kiss, holding my breath my prince gently pulls me in and plants his lips on mine.. In a distance I hear clapping, ohhhs and awwws, music, but I am sucked in this moment, this magical kiss that makes my heart stop, my stomach full of tiny butterflies, my eyes closed I am here with him, it’s just the two of us..
So yeah BEEP BEEP BEEP and here is my alarm clock waking me up.. This is my dream. I am married but I never had a big wedding. I was married by the justice of the peace and I had only close family there, no white dress, or any of the fancy stuff. I am not saying it is any less of wedding, but a girl can dream.. 🙂 As I am sure most do. Love is such a wonderful
thing and so is marriage. When you find that one person, that is your match, the one that understands you, shares your interests and your passions, that loves you for who you are no matter what you look like, that sees the beauty inside and loves it more than anything else in the world. The one who brings out the best in you and supports you then you have won the lottery of love. You finished the quest in search of your soul mate.
Sometimes it takes time and patience to find that person, but when you do fight for it. Don’t give up and walk away because it isn’t the perfect time. It will be worth waiting for if she says yes and you get to live that dream. This is all I will write today. I will continue in my next blogs about engagements, moments at your wedding, the bride, the groom and then some :). So follow and subscribe so you don’t miss it!
How was your wedding? Do you have dreams like me ? Share them and pics 🙂

We got married in the Ft. Worth botanical gardens. We always go back to the gazebo where we exchanged vows with our kids when passing through Ft. Worth. Then we spend a few hours just walking around the awesome gardens.Such a beautiful place. We had a simple wedding(no dove release!) and have been together ever since. My opinion is lots of people get married for lots of reasons, but the trick is to make sure marry your best friend.
Beautiful photographs! I agree that people get married for all kinds of reasons, both good and bad. Both of my brothers had big white weddings but my sister and I went less traditional routes–which is strange, you would think it would be the opposite. There is so much more flexibility today to have whatever type of wedding you want. One of the best weddings I ever went to was a live-music themed event at a downtown bar–it was so much fun and I know the bride and groom will always cherish those memories. I do and I wasn’t even in the wedding!
Thank you! Both my sisters had church weddings and were beautiful! I have never been to a theme wedding but it sounds like so much fun!
Awww! Thanks for sharing, that sounds like a romantic wedding! I love the idea of going back and visiting and sharing those memories with your children. So why the no dove release! Too cheesy? 🙂 I forgot about that, I always thought a butterfly release would be awesome.. And yes I agree marry your best friend!
